‘Backlash At Manitoba Universities’

“The vandalizing of a teepee at the National Centre for {Partial} Truth and {One-way} ’Reconciliation’ on the University of Manitoba campus is a “disgrace“, says an ‘indigenous’ {they mean ‘aboriginal’} leader.

The National Centre for {Partial} Truth and {One-way} ‘Reconciliation’ teepee. (National Centre for {Partial} Truth and {One-way} ‘Reconciliation’)

“The teepee, meant to serve as a ‘safe place’ of dialogue, learning and teaching for ‘indigenous’ {‘aboriginal’} and ‘non-Indigenous’ {the other 95% of Canadians} people, was slashed open in several places…”

An overnight fire destroyed a teepee in the courtyard of Brandon University. (Riley Laychuk – CBC)

“…A teepee on the campus of Brandon University was destroyed in a fire overnight…

“Although police said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, both Brandon University and Jason Gobeil, a co-ordinator with the ‘Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples’ Council’, suggested it was intentionally set…

This is a painful and distressing offence to a powerful ‘indigenous’ {they mean ‘aboriginal’} symbol”,
the university said in a news released posted on its website.

“The teepee had been set up as part of a conference of the ‘American Men’s Studies Association’, hosted by Brandon University. The conference invited scholars and researchers to “discuss some of the most pressing issues facing men and the latest research about masculinity“, with a specific focus on an ‘indigenous’ {‘aboriginal’} and ‘decolonial’ {???} approach to masculinity, the university said in a news release…”
{Our universities get dumber and more embarrassing by the minute…}

The ‘Indigenization’ and ‘Racialization’ of Canadian Universities’ (U. Of Regina):
“There’s a new {racial} buzzword rolling off the tongues of Canada’s university administrators: ‘indigenization’. Campuses are looking for new ways to welcome aboriginal students, recruit aboriginal faculty members and embed ‘indigenous’ content in the curriculum. Some schools are even requiring all students — no matter what their specialization — to take at least one ‘indigenous’ studies course before they graduate.”

Decolonizing Another Campus‘ (Acadia U.):
“The structural racism that segregated aboriginals in the 1867 BNA Act continues to be practiced by Canadian institutions – and they still think that ‘It’s for their own good’. Now, aboriginal racial nationalists also agree. Why can’t students of aboriginal heritage be regarded — and treated — as unique individuals rather than as members of a racial collective?”

Mandatory ‘Indigenous Studies’ Courses‘:
“A third-year student from ‘First Nations’ University wants to force all students at the nearby University of Regina—and eventually everywhere—to take mandatory ‘Indigenous’ {Aboriginal} Studies courses…”
