As we have often pointed out, the Aboriginal Industry is succeeding in Segregating aboriginals from the rest of Canadians in more and more aspects of life. This is led by race-based organizations and ‘associations’ who use accusations of ‘racism’ to both get attention and justify their own existence. The result is less, rather than more, racial tolerance, particularly from aboriginals.
Now we have the President of the ‘Indigenous’ Physicians Association of Canada’ validating yet another unfair accusation of ‘racism’, in order to justify his claim of systemic ‘racism’ against aboriginals in the health care system.
The CBC uses an example of an incorrect medical diagnosis, where an aboriginal’s stroke symptoms were mistaken for drunkenness and ‘racism’ has been claimed. The fact that the misdiagnosis an unfortunately common occurrence immediately undermines the ‘racism’ claim. The association President knows this but fails to call the CBC on it, while he generalizes – without ANY examples – about racism in the Canadian health care system:
‘Racism in health care is “a real thing”, says ‘indigenous’ physician’
“The president of the ‘Indigenous’ Physicians Association of Canada’ says racism in health care can have ‘very real and sometimes negative’ consequences.
“Recently, an Inuvialuit woman from Aklavik, N.W.T., said her uncle died from the effects of a stroke after health care staff mistook the signs of the stroke for drunkenness. She says racism was a factor in the way her uncle was treated {See below}.
“Dr. Alika Lafontaine, an anesthesiologist in northern Alberta and the president of the ‘Indigenous’ Physicians Association of Canada’, spoke with Lawrence Nayally of CBC Radio’s ‘Trail’s End’ about the racism and discrimination ‘indigenous’ people face in Canada’s health care system…
“I think one of the things that has become very clear in the past few years through a body of research that is continuing to grow {he’s speaking here of ‘Aboriginal Industry’ research that is inherently biased} is that racism and discrimination when it comes to ‘indigenous’ patients is a real thing and it can have very real, and sometimes negative consequences when it comes to patient care…
“Any time a patient experiences hostility when they access a care environment, that’s often how racism is expressed overtly — the yelling, or being told that what they think they have isn’t really what they have, or accusing the patients of being disruptive…
“I think another thing that is happening is that ‘indigenous’ patients are realizing that they have rights, and these are rights that can be and are protected under law.
“Coming from our own communities, we understand what it’s like to experience bias, discrimination and racism ourselves…”

“Natives cannot be treated like this,” Papik said. “There’s a difference between the way a ‘white’ person and a native gets treated. I bet if you were lying down stroked out, they’d pick you up and haul you out of there. But if you were native they’d say, ‘Oh, she’s drunk and passed out.'”
“A spokesperson for the nurses’ employer, the N.W.T. Department of Health and Social Services, says it has already reviewed the incident, and won’t be taking any further steps.
“The CEO of the ‘N.W.T. Health and Social Services Authority’ has reviewed the matter and she is confident that appropriate clinical practices were followed,”
