Another example of Canadian governments surrendering their inherent legal jurisdiction to the political dictates of Race Based Law:
“This memorandum is a leading example of the types of partnership arrangements that Anishinabek ‘Nation’ will be seeking on a full range of resource management issues. The Anishinabek ‘Nation’ has centuries of experience on how to manage our resources and these types of agreements will allow our communities to share their expertise.”
“Anishinabek ‘Nation’ Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee has congratulated Nipissing ‘First Nation’ {a ‘nation’ of 2,509 people} for leading the way in maintaining its {so-called} ‘inherent jurisdiction’ in fisheries management…
“Nipissing ‘First Nation’ and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’, March 10, with the goal to work together to support the sustainable management of Lake Nipissing fisheries, and specifically the recovery and long-term health of the walleye population…
“In August 2015, newly-elected Chief Scott McLeod and council closed the commercial walleye fishery early…
“In February, our council…worked in partnership with MNRF to manage the lake and move toward a more sustainable fishery while supporting THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OUR OWN FISHERIES LAW AND MANAGEMENT PLANS”, said Chief McLeod.
“As stewards of the natural resources within ‘our {ancestors’ FORMER} territories’, I am proud that Nipissing ‘First Nation’ has taken the steps to effectively manage their resource in accordance with their laws and practices.”

https://www.facebook.com/Nipissing-First-Nation-Administration-194066057364750/ “The Nipissing ‘First Nation’ (N‘FN’) Chief and Council moved forward with a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ (MOU) with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) on March 10, 2016.
“The MOU will enable the ministry to support the successful implementation of Nipissing ‘First Nation’s ‘Fisheries Law’, which has been in place since 2006, and will help manage the community’s commercial fishing activities by supporting and developing their technical and financial capacity. This MOU establishes a new relationship between N‘FN’ and the MNRF by continuing on the path of ‘reconciliation’ {power sharing and money} and good faith through discussions between both parties about ‘aboriginal restorative justice’ {two-tiered justice}, recognition of the N‘FN’ Chi-Naaknigewin (constitution). It also seeks to rebuild the parties’ relationship, which has been frustrated by historical government policies and actions.
Nipissing ‘First Nation’ Chief Scott McLeod stated:
“This is an important step to managing our resources at a sustainable level by protecting the fish and our inherent and treaty rights in order to access them for future generations.
“WE DON’T PLAN ON STOPPING HERE: we are going to look at other aspects and push for sustainable changes in the recreational fishery.”
“This new relationship enables the provision of financial and technical resources to NFN to support the commitments described within the MOU…as well as compliance and enforcement protocols that support N‘FN’s ‘Fisheries Law’ and use principles of ‘aboriginal restorative justice’.
“The Fisheries Law requires N‘FN’ band members who fish commercially to obtain a permit in accordance with regulations enacted under this law…”

Our aboriginal Canadians are still working under the assumption that they know how to be environmentally and conservation stewards of the land. They are not and never have been. Their culture is to provide regardless of how much there is and this worked fine before Europeans arrived. No guns back then. But once they obtained such weapons they would basically clean out an area and move on. They still seem to think that our wildlife resources are with out limits and will sustain their old hunting and fishing methods. Not so my friends.
