‘Administrative Racism at U. Of Victoria’

In case you’re wondering about the suppression of free speech and inquiry at Canadian post-secondary institutions – like recently at the University of Victoria – here is one reason why it’s occurring. When you place Aboriginal racists in positions of power, this is the result:

A message from ‘Qwul’sih’yah’maht’, Dr. Robina Thomas, Acting President & Vice-Chancellor, University of Victoria’

Dear students, staff and faculty,

I raise my hands with the deepest of respect – ‘Huy tseep g’u Siem’ – thank you to all the respected ones {?} who showed up to turn their backs on a potentially-harmful {?} ‘unsanctioned’ event at UVic earlier today. The sea of orange that surrounded the ‘Survivor’s Flag’ is an undeniable validation of our communities’ commitment to the local ‘Indigenous’ Teachings that ground our ‘Indigenous Plan’.

I want to acknowledge that harms have been done to members of our community. To ‘Indigenous’ students, staff, faculty and community – we stand with you against those who seek to divide us. We honour the lost children and ‘Survivors’ {The billion-dollar Aboriginal Industry’s pejorative term for ‘former students’} of residential schools, their families and communities.

At the University of Victoria, the ‘Teachings’ along with our commitment to ‘equity’ {The Communist version of ‘equality’}, ‘diversity’ {Except of thought and speech} and ‘belonging’ underpin our approach to fostering a welcoming and inclusive university. These principles form the fabric of our community and help to create the conditions in which academic freedom, civil and informed debate, and open inquiry {Where?} can thrive.

Recent events on our campus and attempts at denying the history of residential schools are part of a growing narrative that attempts to distort the values and the core mission of higher education institutions – commitment to truth, critical inquiry {Someone needs to teach you what that means}, and knowledge dissemination {Which you oppose}. This hurtful and divisive rhetoric should not be confused for academic inquiry and debate {This should be you talking to the mirror!}.

UVic is a leader in ‘Indigenization’ {Retreating from Modernity and intellectual inquiry} and ‘reconciliation’ for university campuses across Canada. I know that our community is hurting. As I shared in my message yesterday, in moments like this, our strength lies in unity and in living our values. We must support one another and affirm the inclusive, respectful culture we can only build together. We uphold our pledge to ‘Petalnawar | ÁTOL,NEUEL’ | respecting the rights of one another and being in right relationship with all things.

At a time like this, please know that resources and supports are available on campus and in our community.”

Huy tseep q’u Siem’,

Qwul’sih’yah’maht’

–Dr. Robina Thomas

It {U Vic} has been perpetuating the falsehood of 215 remains of children being confirmed at Kamloops since 2021, and is intent on censoring any correction of this claim. This should be of concern for everyone who believes that universities should be places of open inquiry and critical thinking, not propaganda and indoctrination.

The University of Victoria receives hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars annually while it facilitates the arrest of Canadians attempting to engage in free inquiry on campus.

The ‘Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms’ announces that lawyers funded by the Justice Centre will challenge the prosecution of Canadian academic Dr. Frances Widdowson. She was arrested and ticketed for trespass on December 2, 2025, at the University of Victoria (UVic) after attempting to engage the campus community in discussion about the disputed claims of unmarked graves in Kamloops.

Dr. Widdowson attended the UVic campus with ‘OneBC’ Leader Dallas Brodie. The dialogue was intended to initiate a good-faith inquiry into a matter relevant to public policy. Yet the university warned the free speech advocates the previous day that they were “not permitted to attend UVic property for the purpose of speaking publicly” and denounced the planned engagement with students on its website both before and after it took place.

When Dr. Widdowson arrived on campus, she was greeted by approximately 100 aggressive protesters assembled where she intended to speak at Petch Fountain. The agitators appeared to include a mix of self-identified Communists, Hamas supporters, and Antifa-aligned individuals.

Confronted by UVic security officials and multiple Saanich police officers, Dr. Widdowson was quickly served with a trespass notice. When she declined to leave, she was arrested, detained for about two hours, and charged under British Columbia’s “Trespass Act”—an offence punishable by fines up to $2,000 or up to six months’ imprisonment.

Dr. Widdowson said,

My arrest at the University of Victoria is an indication of an institution that is completely unmoored from its academic purpose {!}.

It has been perpetuating the falsehood of 215 remains of children being confirmed at Kamloops since 2021, and is intent on censoring any correction of this claim. This should be of concern for everyone who believes that universities should be places of open inquiry and critical thinking, not propaganda and indoctrination”,

she added.

Constitutional lawyer Glenn Blackett said,

The University of Victoria receives hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars annually while it facilitates the arrest of Canadians attempting to engage in free inquiry on campus”.

Her legal team will contest the ticket and defend her Charter-protected freedoms of expression and peaceful assembly. No stranger to controversy over academic freedom, Dr. Widdowson previously served as a tenured professor at Mount Royal University before being dismissed in 2021 following criticism over her views on identity politics and ‘Indigenous’ policy.

An arbitrator later found her termination wrongful.

Her 2008 book “Disrobing the Aboriginal Industry” was shortlisted for the ‘Donner Prize’ in public policy literature, and she is the 2025 recipient of the Justice Centre’s ‘George Jonas Freedom Award’ for her commitment to protecting freedom of expression and open inquiry.”

From 2018:

The University of Victoria says it’s “truly sorry” after a third-party review of its ‘Indigenous Governance’ program found evidence of “dysfunctional classroom dynamics” that left current and former students “traumatized“.

The university has decided to suspend new student enrolment for the graduate program, known as ‘IGOV’, for the 2018-2019 academic year to allow time for a revamp, said Nancy Wright, associate vice-president for academic planning.

We see redeveloping this program as part of a process of healing and ‘reconciliation’,”

said Wright.

A confidential “participant’s report“, prepared by two conflict resolution experts and based on interviews with 30 current and former students and faculty, said the program suffered from “discrimination {Race-based programs are, by definition, ‘discriminatory’} and “hyper-masculinity” that provided little classroom space for diverse points of view.

Most of those we heard from described the ‘IGOV’ learning environment as stressful, in part, because of difficult classroom dynamics caused by a sense of entitlements, competition and unpredictability“,

said the April 19 report, released to participants and obtained by ‘CBC News’.

From our interviews, it was apparent that the emotional and psychological impact of dysfunctional classroom dynamics can be profound.”

The university hired Madeleine ‘Kétéskwew’ Dion Stout, a retired professor and nurse who specializes in ‘Indigenous’ {sic} health, racism, lateral violence and trauma, and Jamie Chicanot, a partner with ‘ADR Education’, a firm specializing in workplace conflict resolution, to conduct the review.

The report said there was a feeling the program had “little tolerance for ‘LGBTQ’ {‘Alphabet’} and two-spirited individuals” along with “inherent tensions” connected to the role and inclusion of “non-‘Indigenous’ students in the program {Aboriginal racism needs to be acknowledged and confronted}.

The report recommended the university improve the program’s “professionalism and classroom dynamics” by developing protocols “based on local ‘Indigenous’ teachings and traditions“.

{They don’t seem to have any problem with altering contemporary Western education to accommodate primitive cultures. It’s more about politically-correct pandering than about education.}

It also recommended land-based education and creating more culturally and academically appropriate support systems {?} along with anti-bullying and racism training {Yes, many Aboriginals – particularly among leadership – are desperately in need of those…}.

The report also found that there was an “overarching impression that the concerns expressed to us are well known to the university“.

Wright said the university appointed Dion Stout and Chicanot to lead the “environmental review” of the program last fall after the Dean received a complaint in June 2017.

Wright said former ‘IGOV’ director Jeff Kanohalidoh Corntassel had decided to take a new position with the ‘Indigenous Studies’ department {That doesn’t admit the fact that Canadian Aboriginals are ‘Indigenous’ to Mongolia and Siberia}, but it was not directly connected to the outcome of the review.

In a letter to ‘IGOV’ alumni, Valerie Kuehne, provost and vice-president academic, said the university would be working with a team of ‘Indigenous’ scholars and local ‘Elders’ and community members to guide the redesign of the program.

“The university recognizes that there is work to be done in rebuilding that essential element of trust with students, faculty, staff, alumni of the program and the community,” wrote Kuehne, in an April 19 letter obtained by ‘CBC News’.

The report noted that the program, which began in the late 1990s, was too good to let fail.

The fundamental value and importance of a program such as ‘IGOV’ is undeniable“,

said the report.

It is an essential contributor to and catalyst for scholarship and academic discourse on issues such as ‘decolonization’, ‘nationhood’, resurgence and ‘reconciliation’.”

{Which is precisely why it has NO PLACE in a Canadian university!}

The ‘Indigenization’ and ‘Racialization’ of Canadian Universities(U. Of Regina) {September 25, 2016}:

There’s a new {racial} buzzword rolling off the tongues of Canada’s university administrators: ‘indigenization’. Campuses are looking for new ways to welcome aboriginal students, recruit aboriginal faculty members and embed ‘indigenous’ content in the curriculum. Some schools are even requiring all students — no matter what their specialization — to take at least one ‘indigenous’ studies course before they graduate.”

“From the increasingly-racist University of Manitoba:

New students who are entering the Faculty of Arts starting in Fall 2021 will include at least three credit hours of ‘Indigenous’ {sic} course content in their studies in order to graduate with a ‘Bachelor of Arts’ degree…”

{Hopefully, that will include the fact that Aboriginals are NOT ‘Indigenous’ to North America…but it’s unlikely…}

Is there no one at the university with the spine to tell their timid and misguided leaders that they have lost their way?

Lakehead Struggles With Indigenizing Law School {Oct.7, 2019}:

The appointment of an ‘indigenous’ {they mean ‘aboriginal’} woman as the first Dean of a law school in Canada was supposed to be a watershed moment for Lakehead University {See our previous post below…}. But it’s been nearly 18 months since Angelique EagleWoman resigned and subsequently sued the institution, alleging ‘systemic racism’ at the Thunder Bay university {after she had been accused of Race-based bullying}. Now, Lakehead’s fraught search for a replacement has concluded with a non-‘indigenous’ person being chosen as dean, beating out a ‘First Nations’ {aboriginal} man for the job.”
