‘In Case You Missed It’:
Here is a classic example of the Aboriginal Industry at work. First, you falsify the historical record; then, you claim damages for the alleged ‘injustice’. The actual facts never seem to carry much weight…
“Councillors in Prince George, B.C., have voted in favour of renaming a civic park to commemorate a ‘dark past’ with a local ‘First Nation’ {aboriginal community}.
“In a 8-1 vote, council decided on Monday night to change the name of ‘Fort George Park’ to ‘Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park’. The name aims to acknowledge the {falsified} history of the park, where, in 1913, the Lheidli T’enneh village was burned to make way for a railway and the city.
{An unfair characterization. See below…}
“We are not rewriting or erasing history“,
{That’s EXACTLY what you’re doing!}
said councillor Terri McConnachie.
“Actually we are now, for the first time, acknowledging it.”
“Though not all residents are happy about the name change {!}, councillor Brian Skakun assured that,
“The grass is still going to be green, the trees are still going to grow, the water’s still going to run in the fountain. Absolutely nothing’s going to change the physical aspects of the park“.

“Derek Frigon, a local truck driver who attended Monday’s council meeting, commended the city for doing the right thing…
“It just makes it just a little bit less wrong what we {?} did.”
“Carrier Sekani tribal Chief Terry Teegee calls the name change a start for true {one-way} ‘reconciliation’.
“I don’t think we could have imagined it happening [in the past] … we’re living more in an information age and today’s British Columbians wants to know the {twisted} ‘truth’ about this place we live in“,
he said.
“The official renaming is expected to happen on June 21, or ‘National Aboriginal Day’.”

“The front page story in the June 15th ‘Citizen’ continues the local misconception that in 1913, the local native Band was forcibly moved from their reserve, and the village was wantonly burned to displace them. This commonly-held local myth is incorrect if one looks at the facts of the matter.
“A well-researched and clearly-referenced 2010 report by David Vogt and Alexander Gamble, published in UBC’s ‘B.C. Studies’, provides much detail on the purchase of the reserve between 1910 and 1913 by the Grand Trunk Railway. This 72-page report is available online and has a rather interesting title of ‘You Don’t Suppose The Dominion Government Wants to Cheat the Indians — The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the Fort George Reserve, 1910-12’.

“This report clearly documents that:
—In November of 1911, the native Band members held a vote and agreed by 89% to sell the reserve to the Grand Trunk Railway for $100,000. They received one quarter of the funds at that time.
–The Grand Trunk Railway also provided $25,000 to build new buildings at the existing Shelley reserve for the people displaced by the sale.
–The Shelley village was completed in 1913 and the Band was relocated in September of that year.
—After the Band was relocated to Shelley, the village buildings were burned as they served no purpose to the now new owners. There was a feeling among the church that the buildings, if left standing, would encourage some Band members to return to the area and be corrupted by the vices of the ‘whites’.
“There is a lot of additional information that can be gleaned from this report related to the existing graveyard as well as the politics of the time, and should be a good source for information for local history buffs.
“It is hoped that the myth perpetuated by local lore that the native Band was forcibly moved to Shelley, and their village burned, can factually be put to rest.”

‘The Myths Of Caledonia’:
“The ownership history of Six Nations lands in Ontario has been ignored, as has the legal basis of the Six Nations claim to those lands. It’s time for the politically-incorrect truth to be told. In short, THE SIX NATIONS HAVE NO LEGAL RIGHTS TO THE LAND IN QUESTION, AND HAVE HAD NONE FOR OVER A CENTURY…”

‘Pan Am Games Perpetuate Fraud’ (‘The Toronto Purchase’):
“This foolishness {“our traditional lands”} went by with virtually no comment from Canadian historians or our governments; indeed, our governments were complicit in spreading what amounts to an historical lie. This has become commonplace, with Canadian officials constantly thanking the ‘traditional’ landowners, even when — as in this case — their claim is ridiculous…”
