‘Aboriginals Split Over Pipeline’

Aboriginal communities can’t agree on the Trans Mountain pipeline, and it highlights the court-ordered foolishness of having to get the agreement of dozens of tiny communities simply because of their race. Meanwhile, Canada loses…

“Thirty-three ‘First Nations’ {aboriginal communities} signed mutual-benefits agreements with Kinder Morgan Canada Ltd. before the expansion was taken over by the federal government, and Cheam ‘First Nation’ {a ‘nation’ of 547 people} Chief Ernie Crey has expressed interest in buying a stake.

“The goal for his ‘First Nation’ is to become a self-sufficient community that does not rely on government subsidies for the next seven generations, said Brad Callihoo, chief executive officer of the Fort McMurray #468 ‘First Nation’ {a ‘nation’ of 824 people}, and a stake in the pipeline project would go a long way to achieving that objective.

“Several ‘First Nations’ in coastal and central B.C. filed lawsuits against the project, citing inadequate consultation. As they celebrated their win on the banks of Burrard Inlet on Aug. 30, dozens of construction workers from Callihoo’s ‘First Nation’ were sent home from their jobs.

The McMurray Metis are flourishing thanks to the economic opportunities provided by the oilsands, said chief executive officer Bill Loutitt, pointing to higher-than-average numbers of Aboriginal graduates in the region. The group will continue to push for a stake in Trans Mountain…

“But Rueben George, a {racist and anti-Canadian} representative of the Tsleil-Waututh ‘Nation’ {a ‘nation’ of 597 people} in North Vancouver, said he couldn’t imagine his community ever supporting the project or purchasing a stake.

“The Tsleil-Waututh commissioned its own 1,200-page environmental assessment and concluded the project was a threat not only to its {claimed} ‘traditional territories’ but to the global fight against {so-called} ‘climate change’, he said…”

Chief Allan Adam

“Chief Allan Adam might be best known for his resistance to oilsands development, but on Thursday in Yellowknife he told ‘indigenous’ business leaders they should support oilsands developments like the Trans Mountain pipeline if they want to be successful.

“The chief of the Athabasca Chipewyan ‘First Nation’ {a ‘nation’ of 1,266 people} was the keynote speaker at this week’s Arctic ‘Indigenous’ Investment Conference in Yellowknife…

I have been at the table with A‘FN’ [Assembly of ‘First Nations’] and always hear stories about [the] 1800s … when [treaties were] signed. Why can’t we tell stories about when we signed the great deals from 2018 and made prosperity happen for ‘First Nations’ {‘aboriginal communities’}?
he said in his keynote address.
The opportunity is before us. Don’t flounder it.”

Killing energy projects only hurts ‘First Nations’ {July 11, 2016}:
“‘First Nations’ across Canada benefit from natural resource development. A whole class of ‘First Nation’ and Metis entrepreneurs have grown around the resource industry. In response to vocal ‘indigenous’ resistance to pipelines, the ‘Indian Resource Council’, an organization representing aboriginal communities supportive of the oil and gas industries, has tried to have its voice heard.”
