‘Hassling Line 3’

Aboriginal race activists and their environmental ‘allies’ are working to disrupt Enbridge’s Line 3, on both sides of the border:
We are fighting for the reclamation of all ‘indigenous lands’, & the future of mother earth!

“Early October 18th, a crew of ‘indigenous’ & ‘non-‘indigenous’ comrades under the direction of Ojibwe elders built more waganogans {‘prayer lodges’} on the Line 3 pipeline route, somewhere in northern Minnesota.

“These are always intended as positive places to gather in prayer & feast, & positive resistance against racist resource extraction, whilst simultaneously practicing ancient cultural traditions that existed both BEFORE & after treaties were signed, but are also now supposed to be legally protected by treaties for ‘indigenous’ peoples of those treaty territories.
{Ummm, no, that’s certainly not in the Canadian treaties…}

“While racist resource extraction continues, continue to expect our resistance day and night.

“Please help our resistance by doing solidarity actions wherever you are!
We aren’t just fighting a black snake, we are fighting cultural genocide!
We aren’t just fighting for one piece of land, we are fighting for the reclamation of all ‘indigenous lands’, & the future of mother earth!

“No Enbridge! No Line 3! No KXL! No MVP!
No Kinder Morgan! No ETP! No Bayou Bridge!”

Prayer Lodges Built on Route of Enbridge Line 3 (Anti Colonial Land Defense)

More arrogant aboriginals making fools of themselves by illegally interfering with pipeline workers, this time in southern Manitoba. Hope they get frostbite:

–Enbridge Line3 construction in southern Manitoba, northwest of Morden
Oct. 3, 2018

“An ‘indigenous’ {aboriginal} ‘prayer camp’ (the Spirit of Buffalo camp near Gretna, Man., 100 kilometres south of Winnipeg) has been set up near the Canada-U.S. border along the Enbridge Line 3 oil pipeline in an effort to stop construction of its replacement…

“Geraldine McManus, a Dakota two-spirit person {What does its sexuality have to do with this issue?} at the camp, says they can see the crews working on the pipeline on the U.S. side of the border, where the pipeline replacement received approval on June 28.

We’re standing about 10, 15 feet away from them, so we’re putting ourselves right on the line“,
McManus said.
We’re not letting them cross into Canada.”
{Breathtaking arrogance and self-importance…}

“The Enbridge Line 3 replacement has received approvals in Canada and construction has begun in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Construction in Manitoba is anticipated to start in August and facilities construction in the right-of-way has already started, an Enbridge spokesperson said.

“Enbridge officials say the pipeline, which was built in the 1960s, is deteriorating and needs to be replaced. Current capacity is 390,000 barrels per day, but the new 36-inch pipeline will restore it to its former capacity of 760,000 barrels per day, the company says. The original 34-inch pipeline will be deactivated and left in place, which Enbridge says causes less damage than removing it.

“Company officials are aware of the protest camp, an emailed statement says…

“The group, which is receiving support from the Manitoba ‘Energy Justice’ Coalition, has lit a sacred fire and there’s continuous prayer…

“A farmer has told them they are near a firing range where people shoot toward the encampment, but they aren’t moving, McManus said:

They’re going to have to drag me off here and I don’t know how they’re going to be able to do that.”

“The land they are on is Crown land and {used to be} ‘indigenous’ land, she says, and ‘indigenous’ people have been given the task {by whom?} of protecting the part of the world they call Turtle Island… ‘Indigenous’ people fighting to protect the land have allies of every nationality, McManus says.”

From May, 2018:
“Pipeline supporters and opponents held side-by-side rallies outside a downtown Calgary hotel Wednesday, where Enbridge was holding a shareholders meeting on the Line 3 pipeline replacement project. Calgary police estimated about 200 people attended the duelling protests, the majority of whom were pipeline supporters.

I know a lot of people that have lost work, including my husband“,
said Victoria Wallace, a geologist with an oil and gas company who attended the rally.
I think it’s important for Canada’s economy overall.”

“Wallace called the counter-protesters stances “ironic“,

We’re importing a lot of oil and gas from countries that don’t have very good human rights and Canadian oil and gas is very ethical“,
she said.

“The pipeline replacement project is intended to run between Alberta and Wisconsin. While it has federal approval in Canada and a presidential permit in the U.S., it’s being held up by state regulators.

“Tara Houska, the national director for ‘indigenous’ environmental group ‘Honour the Earth’, said the hostility pro-pipeline protesters brought to her group of about 30 anti-pipeline advocates was “unfortunate and very disappointing“.

“Houska, an attorney from Couchiching ‘First Nation’ in Minnesota, attended the meeting as a proxy shareholder…
